What Is the Flower Candle Mold?

The Flower Candle Mold is a flexible silicone mold for resin art and candle making that captures the shape of a full, open flower — petals fanned outward from a detailed centre. The highly flexible silicone walls allow for easy release without tearing delicate petal edges. This is a solid flower form mold: the finished piece is a complete freestanding candle or resin figurine, not a vessel for holding a tealight.

How to Use – Flower Soy Wax Candle (Step-by-Step)

Step 1 – Prepare wick: Thread a cotton wick through a wick holder and centre it across the top of the mold cavity. The wick should hang down into the centre of the flower shape.

Step 2 – Melt wax: Heat soy wax to 60–65°C, then allow it to cool to 50–55°C (pour temperature). At around 55°C, add fragrance oil at 6–10% by weight and any liquid candle dye. Stir gently for 2 minutes.

Step 3 – Pour: Pour the scented, coloured wax slowly into the flower cavity. Fill to just below the rim. Avoid disturbing the wick.

Step 4 – Cool slowly: Allow the candle to cool at room temperature — do not refrigerate, as rapid cooling creates sinkholes and cracks. A top-up pour may be needed after the first cool-down if a dip appears at the centre.

Step 5 – Demold: Once fully set (minimum 4–6 hours), gently flex the silicone mold and press from the base. The solid flower candle will release cleanly.

Step 6 – Trim wick: Trim the wick to 5–6 mm before first burn. Place the flower candle on a heat-resistant surface and light from the top centre.

Embedding Botanicals in Resin (Partial-Gel Technique)

To suspend pressed flowers, dried petals, or other botanicals inside a resin flower figurine, use the partial-gel technique: pour a 2–3 mm base layer of epoxy resin into the mold and wait 20–40 minutes until the resin thickens and becomes gel-like but has not yet set hard. Use tweezers to place your botanical inclusion at the desired position. Then pour the encapsulation layer over the top and cure fully for 24–48 hours. This prevents botanicals from floating to the surface during the pour.
