Product Specifications
3:1 Epoxy Resin 400gm from THE CRAFT STATION MOLDS is a crystal clear, self-levelling epoxy resin and hardener kit for resin art, coaster casting, jewellery making, and DIY craft projects. With a simple 3:1 mixing ratio — 3 parts resin to 1 part hardener by weight — it's beginner-friendly and consistent enough for professional artists. In stock and ready to ship pan India. Free shipping above ₹2599.
What Is 3:1 Epoxy Resin?
Epoxy resin is a two-component system: resin and hardener. When mixed in the correct mixing ratio, it undergoes a chemical reaction that transforms the liquid into a hard, durable, glass-clear solid. Our 3:1 formula means you mix 3 parts resin with 1 part hardener by weight — consistent and easy to scale up or down. The 400gm pack gives you approximately 300gm resin + 100gm hardener, enough to fill several coasters, a jewellery batch, or a medium-sized tray.
This epoxy resin has low viscosity, meaning it flows smoothly into silicone molds and self-levels beautifully on flat surfaces. It cures to a glossy, mirror finish with strong UV resistance, so your finished pieces stay crystal clear and won't yellow over time. It's the go-to resin for artists across resin art India communities — from Jammu to Mumbai to Chennai.
Compatible Materials
This epoxy resin works with: food-grade silicone molds (jewellery molds, coaster molds, tray molds, keychain molds), teak wood frames and raw wood surfaces, pressed and dried flowers, mica powder pigments, alcohol inks, pearl powders, glitters, resin pigment pastes, sea shells, and metallic foil flakes. It is not a UV resin — it cures by chemical reaction over time, not by a UV lamp.
How to Use This Epoxy Resin — Step by Step
- Measure by weight: Use a digital scale. Measure 3 parts resin and 1 part hardener into separate cups. Example: 75gm resin + 25gm hardener = 100gm mixed resin. Never estimate by eye.
- Combine and mix: Pour hardener into the resin cup. Stir slowly for 3–4 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom of the cup. Thorough mixing is the single most important step — incomplete mixing causes sticky, uncured patches.
- Add colour (optional): Stir in a small amount of mica powder or resin pigment paste. A little goes a long way — start with less than 5% of your total resin weight. You can always add more, but you can't take it back.
- Pour into your mold: Pour the mixed resin slowly and steadily into your clean silicone mold. Hold the cup low over the cavity to minimise air bubbles.
- Pop bubbles with a heat gun: Pass a heat gun briefly over the surface to pop any trapped air. Move quickly — don't hold heat on one spot for more than 2 seconds. A lighter works in a pinch.
- Cover and let cure: Place the mold on a level surface, cover loosely with a box to keep dust away. Working time / pot life is approximately 25–30 minutes at 25°C. Touch-dry curing time is 24 hours; full curing time is 48–72 hours at room temperature. Maximum hardness develops over 7 days.
- Demold and finish: Once fully cured, flex the silicone mold gently and push from the back — the piece releases cleanly. Sand any rough edges with 400-grit wet-and-dry sandpaper and finish with resin polish for a glossy finish.
Project Ideas — What Can You Make?
This epoxy resin opens up an entire world of resin art projects. Pour it into round coaster molds for an elegant table set, cast it over dried flowers in a deep teak wood frame for a botanical wall piece, or fill jewellery molds to make pendants, earrings, and keychains. Layer different pigment colours for a marble swipe effect, embed chunky glitter for festival pieces, or pour ocean-blue pigments for the wave pour technique loved by the Indian craft community.
Beginners often start with simple coasters or a trinket tray before moving on to deeper projects like name plates and photo frames. Once you're comfortable with the working time and pot life, try embedding pressed flowers, sea shells, or copper leaf flakes for truly one-of-a-kind home décor. India's resin art community is growing fast — and having reliable epoxy resin is where it all begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does a 3:1 mixing ratio mean?
A: Mix 3 parts resin with 1 part hardener, measured by weight. For 75gm resin, use 25gm hardener. Always use a digital scale — measuring by volume gives incorrect proportions and results in sticky, uncured resin.
Q: How many coasters can I make with 400gm?
A: A standard 10cm coaster uses about 30–40gm of mixed resin. So 400gm gives you approximately 10–12 coasters. For deeper pours (frames, plaques), you will need more resin per piece.
Q: My resin stayed sticky after 48 hours — what went wrong?
A: The most common cause is an incorrect mixing ratio or incomplete mixing. Always measure by weight, stir for at least 3–4 minutes, and work above 20°C. Cold temperatures dramatically slow curing time.
Q: Can I use this with UV resin molds?
A: Yes — you can use this epoxy resin in any silicone mold. But this is not UV resin and will not cure under a UV lamp. It cures by chemical reaction over 48–72 hours.
Q: Is bulk pricing available?
A: Yes! Contact us on WhatsApp for bulk orders, wholesale pricing, and B2B supply inquiries. We supply artists, craft studios, and small businesses across India.
Q: Does this resin work for epoxy resin India climates?
A: Yes — this resin is formulated for use in Indian room temperatures (20–35°C). In very hot conditions (above 35°C), your pot life will shorten slightly. Work in a cool, shaded area in summer months.
