Small Crystal Mold – Compact Quartz Point Form for Resin Jewellery & Mini Crystal Figurines
The Small Crystal Mold from THE CRAFT STATION MOLDS is your go-to silicone mold for crafting resin crystal jewellery, quartz point pendants, dainty earrings, keychains, and miniature crystal figurines. Designed around the iconic single-point crystal form — narrow at the tip, widening into a natural faceted base — this mold captures every facet edge with crisp detail so your finished pieces look like polished gemstones straight from the mold.
Made from food-grade platinum silicone that is BPA-free and non-toxic, the Small Crystal Mold flexes easily for clean demolding without distorting your cured resin piece. Its compact cavity size makes it ideal for UV resin projects where you want a fast 2–5 minute cure under a 36W+ UV lamp, and the shallow depth means no worries about exotherm cracking. Rated for 100+ uses, this mold will serve your jewellery business or hobby studio for years.
This mold pairs perfectly with the Big Crystal Mold to create mixed-size crystal sets — arrange a large amethyst point alongside three small rose quartz points for a stunning tabletop display or a layered jewellery collection. Combine crystals with resin pigments and dried botanicals for one-of-a-kind wearable art.

Step-by-Step: UV Resin Crystal Pendant
UV resin is the fastest path to a finished crystal pendant with this mold. Because the cavity is small and shallow, a single-component UV resin cures fully under a 36W+ UV lamp in just 2–5 minutes per layer — no mixing, no waiting 24–48 hours like epoxy resin.
1. Prepare Your Workspace
Place the Small Crystal Mold on a flat silicone mat. Gather your UV resin, resin pigment or mica powder, UV lamp, tweezers, toothpick, and IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipes. Wear nitrile gloves and work in a ventilated area.
2. Colour Your Resin
Pour a small amount of UV resin into a mixing cup. Add 1–3 drops of resin pigment — try amethyst purple, rose quartz pink, or clear with a shimmer mica for a natural quartz effect. Stir gently for 60 seconds, scraping the sides to prevent colour streaks.
3. First Pour — Crystal Tip Layer
Pour or pipette a thin layer of coloured resin into the crystal tip, filling it about one-third. Use a toothpick to coax resin into the narrow point without trapping air bubbles. Cure under your UV lamp for 2 minutes.
4. Optional Inclusions Layer
For an embedded inclusion — a dried flower petal, glitter flake, or gold foil — place it on the cured first layer using tweezers. Pour a thin encapsulation layer over it and cure for 2 minutes. This partial-gel technique locks your inclusion in place at the centre of the crystal for maximum visual impact.
5. Final Fill & Full Cure
Top up the mold to the brim with coloured UV resin. Cure for 3–5 minutes. After curing, wipe the slightly tacky surface (oxygen inhibition layer) with an IPA-soaked cloth to eliminate stickiness without sanding.
6. Demold & Finish
Gently flex the silicone mold from the sides and peel away from the base. Your crystal pendant pops out cleanly via easy release. Sand the flat base lightly with 400-grit wet sandpaper if needed. Attach a bail and chain for a finished pendant, or add a jump ring and earring hook for dangle earrings. Apply a UV resin doming top coat for extra depth, gloss, and mirror finish.
Epoxy Resin Crystal Figurines — Two-Layer Pour Technique
For crystal figurines, fridge magnets, or keychains with deep embedded inclusions, use epoxy resin at a 3:1 ratio (3 parts Part A resin to 1 part Part B hardener by volume). The compact cavity cures without significant exotherm, but a two-layer pour gives you the cleanest result with inclusions:
Layer 1: Fill halfway. Allow to cure 12–18 hours until firm but slightly tacky on top. Place your inclusion — dried botanical, photo, foil leaf — using tweezers. Layer 2: Pour remaining resin to the brim. Allow full cure 24–48 hours at room temperature. Demold gently by flexing the silicone. Sand the base if needed. Attach a bail, keychain loop, or magnet to finish.
Crystal Colour Palettes & Gemstone Ideas
Amethyst Purple
Deep purple plus violet pigment with a hint of silver mica. Keep it slightly translucent so light passes through the crystal point like genuine amethyst. Make multiple small crystals in varying purple shades for a cluster arrangement.
Rose Quartz Pink
Soft blush pink with a pearl shimmer mica. Keep the colour delicate and translucent — real rose quartz is never opaque. Pairs beautifully with the Big Crystal Mold in coordinated pink tones for a luxury gifting set.
Clear Quartz with Botanicals
Clear UV resin with zero pigment. Embed a tiny dried gypsophila blossom or gold foil flake at the centre for a botanical crystal pendant. The transparency makes the inclusion the hero.
Citrine Amber Keychain
Warm amber-yellow with a gold shimmer mica. Associated with abundance and positivity — a popular crystal charm. Drill a small hole post-demold or embed a keychain loop before the final layer of UV resin cures.
Smoky Quartz Earrings
Translucent warm grey with a slight brown undertone. Pour two cavities simultaneously from the same batch for matching earring pairs with identical colour depth and translucency.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is UV resin or epoxy resin better for the Small Crystal Mold?
UV resin is recommended for jewellery use (earrings, pendants, keychains) because it cures in 2–5 minutes and suits small, shallow cavities perfectly. Epoxy resin (3:1 ratio, 24–48 hour cure) is better when you need a thicker figurine or want to embed deeper inclusions like botanicals or photos.
How do I avoid air bubbles in the crystal tip?
The narrow crystal tip is the most bubble-prone area. After pouring, use a toothpick to gently push resin into the tip and burst visible bubbles. For UV resin, a brief pass with a heat gun on low (held 20 cm away) before curing brings bubbles to the surface. For epoxy, cover the mold and let it rest for 10 minutes so bubbles self-release.
Can I make a matching earring pair with this mold?
Yes — if your mold has multiple crystal cavities, fill them simultaneously from the same mixed resin batch for identical colour and translucency. For a single-cavity mold, mix a slightly larger batch, fill the first form, immediately pour the second into a compatible mold, and cure both together under the UV lamp for a matching pair.
How do I attach a bail to make a pendant?
After demolding, use E6000 adhesive or UV resin to attach a glue-on bail to the flat base of the crystal point. Alternatively, use a 1mm resin drill bit to drill a small hole at the top of the crystal and thread a jump ring through it for a more secure pendant bail.
Does this mold work for soy wax candles?
Yes — pour soy wax at 50–55°C for clean cavity filling. Cool at room temperature (never refrigerate — rapid cooling causes sinkhole cracks in small forms). Top up any sinkhole with a second small pour of matching wax. Paraffin wax can be poured at 60–65°C. Add a small birthday candle wick before the wax sets for a decorative crystal birthday candle.
How do I clean the mold between pours?
For fully cured resin residue: flex the mold to dislodge any cured drips. Wipe with an IPA-soaked cloth for uncured or partially cured resin — do this immediately after any overflow, as cured resin inside the cavity is very difficult to remove. Avoid acetone or harsh solvents — they degrade silicone and shorten mold life. Store the mold flat in a dust-free drawer away from direct sunlight to preserve cavity detail.
