What Is the Oval Shape Tube Planter Mold with Glass Tube?
The Oval Shape Tube Planter Mold with Glass Tube is a premium silicone mold set designed for creating beautiful resin tube planters — a vertical, cylindrical epoxy resin planter that holds a glass tube insert for housing small plants, succulents, air plants, or dried botanical arrangements. This mold set combines food-grade platinum silicone with a glass tube insert to produce a finished planter that is part resin art, part living décor.
Resin tube planters are one of the most popular home décor products in the resin art market today — they combine the tactile beauty of epoxy resin with the organic warmth of a living plant or dried botanical. Whether poured in earthy terracotta tones, translucent teal, or marble-effect white and gold, a resin tube planter is a statement piece in any living room, office, or café.
Made from BPA-free, non-toxic platinum silicone with a built-in glass tube, this mold delivers clean, professional results pour after pour. Trusted by 5,000+ artists across India, it is stocked by THE CRAFT STATION MOLDS — Jammu's first dedicated resin art supply store.
Compatible Materials
- Epoxy resin (3:1 ratio): Mix Part A and Part B at a 3:1 ratio by volume. Cure for 24–48 hours. Best for planters with marble effects, geode patterns, and solid colour finishes.
- UV resin: Suitable for thin surface layers and detailed accents on the planter exterior. Cure under a 36W+ UV lamp, 2–5 minutes per layer (max 3–4mm).
- Concrete: Creates a raw, industrial-aesthetic planter. Heavier than resin; suitable for larger succulents and tabletop arrangements.
- Plaster of Paris: Quick-setting option for textured, paintable planters. Demolds within 30–60 minutes.
How to Create a Resin Tube Planter
- Prepare the mold: Place the glass tube insert in the centre of the silicone mold cavity. The tube creates the hollow interior that will hold your plant or botanical. Lightly spray the silicone with mold release spray.
- Mix your resin: Prepare epoxy resin at a 3:1 ratio (Part A:Part B) by volume. Stir slowly for 3–4 minutes to minimise air bubbles.
- Tint and pour: Tint your resin with colour pigments — earthy brown, terracotta, sage green, cream, or marble white and gold are popular planter palettes. Pour slowly around the glass tube, filling the outer cavity of the mold. For a marble effect, swirl two contrasting colours using a toothpick as you pour.
- Add surface texture (optional): While the resin is still liquid, sprinkle dry flowers, sand, or mica flakes on the outer surface for a botanical or earthy texture effect.
- Cure fully: Cover loosely and allow to cure for 24–48 hours. Do not move the mold during curing to prevent the glass tube from shifting.
- Demold and plant: Flex the silicone mold gently to release the finished planter. The glass tube remains in place as the built-in water vessel. Add a small succulent, air plant, or trimmed botanical stem — your resin tube planter is ready for display.
Project Ideas and Selling Potential
- Living resin planters: A resin tube planter with a live succulent or air plant is a premium home décor item. Sell individually at ₹800–1,800 per piece, or as a set of 3 coordinated planters at ₹2,000–4,000.
- Dried botanical displays: Fill the glass tube with a stem of dried pampas grass, dried lavender, or preserved leaves for a no-maintenance botanical display. Popular in minimalist and boho interior markets.
- Café and office décor: Small resin tube planters are popular for desk organisation and café table settings. B2B supply to cafés, hotels, and co-working spaces at ₹500–1,200 per piece.
- Wedding and event centrepieces: Coordinated sets of resin tube planters in matching palettes make elegant and unique wedding table décor. Price centrepiece sets at ₹3,000–8,000 per table arrangement.
- Gifting and festive sets: A resin tube planter with a live air plant or dried botanical arrangement makes a distinctive, artisanal gift box item for housewarming, Diwali, and corporate gifting at ₹1,000–2,500.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the glass tube stay inside the finished planter?
Yes. The glass tube is built into the mold design so it stays embedded in the cured resin planter, serving as the water-holding vessel for your plant. You do not need to remove it after curing.
What plants can I put in the glass tube?
Small succulents in a narrow pot, air plants (tillandsia), single stems of preserved flowers, trimmed fresh stems, or dried botanical arrangements (pampas grass, lavender, eucalyptus) all work beautifully in the glass tube insert.
Can I use concrete in this mold instead of resin?
Yes — concrete creates a raw, tactile planter with a different aesthetic to resin. Mix concrete to a pourable consistency, fill the mold around the glass tube, and allow to set for 4–24 hours before demolding. Seal the finished concrete planter with a concrete sealer for water resistance.
What epoxy resin ratio do I use?
Use a 3:1 ratio — 3 parts Part A (resin) to 1 part Part B (hardener) by volume. Mix thoroughly for 3–4 minutes before tinting and pouring. Cure for 24–48 hours at room temperature.
Can I use this mold to make resin vases without the glass tube?
The mold is designed to use with the glass tube insert. Removing the tube would leave a solid resin cylinder with no hollow centre. For a hollow resin vase effect, the glass tube is essential to create the vessel interior.
How many pours can I get from the silicone mold?
The platinum silicone mold delivers 100+ pours with proper care. Clean gently between uses and store flat. The glass tube can also be reused across multiple pours.
Is bulk pricing available for B2B orders?
Yes. TCS Molds offers bulk pricing for studios, interior decorators, and wholesale buyers. Contact us on WhatsApp at +91 97971 37137 for bulk rates on planter mold sets.
