4 Inch Circle Silicone Mold – Perfectly Round Cavity for Resin Coasters, Clock Faces, Wall Art & Home Décor

The 4 Inch Circle Silicone Mold from THE CRAFT STATION MOLDS is the most versatile shape in any resin art studio — a perfectly round 4-inch (approximately 10 cm) cavity for casting smooth, flawless resin coasters, wall art circles, clock faces, and decorative home décor pieces. Whether you are starting your first resin pour or expanding a coaster business, this beginner-friendly mold delivers consistent, professional-quality results in every single batch.

Made from food-grade platinum silicone that is BPA-free and non-toxic, the mold flexes easily for clean demolding — your fully cured piece releases with a flawless mirror finish on the mold-facing side, no sanding required on the display surface. With 100+ uses and compatibility with epoxy resin, UV resin, soy wax, plaster, and cold-process soap, the 4 Inch Circle Mold is one of the highest-utility molds in the TCS Molds range. It is an essential silicone mold for resin art that Indian artists reach for again and again.

For a complete coaster or wall art project, pair this mold with epoxy resin (3:1 ratio), mica powder pigments, and teakwood frames to display your finished circular art pieces as framed wall décor.

Step-by-Step: Epoxy Resin Coaster

1. Prepare Your Workspace

Place the mold on a flat, level silicone mat. Ensure the room temperature is 25–30°C for the best epoxy resin flow and cure. Gather your epoxy resin, hardener, mixing cups, stir sticks, mica powder pigments, a heat gun, and nitrile gloves.

2. Measure & Mix Epoxy Resin

Weigh out epoxy resin and hardener at a 3:1 ratio by volume (3 parts Part A resin to 1 part Part B hardener). Combine in a mixing cup and stir slowly for 3–4 minutes, scraping the sides and base of the cup, until the mixture is fully clear and streak-free. Avoid whipping air into the resin — stir gently in figure-eight motions.

3. Add Colour & Pour

Divide the mixed resin into separate cups and add mica powder pigment or alcohol ink to each cup — use 2–5% pigment by total resin weight for vibrant colour. Pour the colours into the circular cavity in your chosen pattern: a single colour fill, a layered ocean pour, or a swirl design. For a standard coaster, aim for a pour depth of 6–8mm.

4. Remove Bubbles

Pass a heat gun quickly over the surface from about 15 cm above to pop any surface bubbles. Repeat once more after 10–15 minutes if new bubbles rise. Do not hold the heat gun in one spot — keep it moving to avoid burning the surface resin or warping the mold.

5. Cover & Cure

Cover the mold loosely with a cardboard box to protect from dust. Allow the resin to cure 24–48 hours before demolding. For full hardness and scratch resistance, leave it 72 hours at room temperature. Never refrigerate — cold temperatures cause sinkhole cracking and clouding in the resin surface.

6. Demold & Finish

Flex the mold gently from the sides — the coaster will release with a glossy mirror finish on the base. Sand the top face lightly with 400-grit wet sandpaper if needed. Apply a UV resin doming coat or spray varnish for extra depth and a high-shine display finish. Attach self-adhesive felt pads to the base to protect tabletop surfaces.

Project Ideas — What Can You Make?

The 4 Inch Circle is one of the most versatile shapes in resin art. Ocean-themed coasters with layered blues, teals, and gold leaf are a perennial bestseller at Indian craft fairs. Create personalised keepsake circles by embedding dried flowers, photographs, or pressed leaves into clear resin. Make a matching set of four coasters for a complete gifting set — package them in a kraft gift box for a premium home décor gift. Cast clock faces and pair them with a clock mechanism insert for beautiful handmade wall clocks. Or go abstract with swirl pours, alcohol ink blooms, and metallic pigment waves and frame the finished circle in a teakwood frame for gallery-quality wall art.

Artists across India use this mold for everything from Instagram-worthy resin coasters and botanical preservation art to corporate Diwali gifting sets and home décor commissions. The circle is the most universally giftable resin shape — clean, contemporary, and universally appreciated.

Colour Ideas & Pouring Techniques

Ocean Pour Coaster

Layer deep navy, teal, and white pigment in horizontal bands. Pull a toothpick through the wet resin from edge to edge to create wave effects. Add gold mica powder at the "shore" edge and place a small piece of white alcohol ink paper for foam texture.

Marble Coaster

White opaque base with thin gold veins dragged with a toothpick. For a black marble look, use charcoal grey base with silver veins. Marble resin coasters are a consistent bestseller for home décor boutiques and Diwali corporate gifting.

Geode Resin Wall Circle

Pour a dark base (navy or forest green), then add broken geode lines of white, teal, and gold mica moving inward from the edge like a geode cross-section. A 4-inch geode circle framed in a teakwood frame is a premium wall art piece priced at ₹800–₹2,000 retail.

Botanical Preservation Circle

Embed pressed flowers, fern fronds, or autumn leaves in clear epoxy resin. The flat circle shape is ideal for botanical preservation — the finished piece can be displayed as wall art or used as a coaster. Pair with dried flowers from TCS Molds for a full botanical resin collection.

Resin Clock Face

Pour a marble or abstract design into the 4-inch circle. After curing, drill a centre hole for a clock mechanism shaft. Attach a battery-operated clock mechanism insert (available at craft stores). A handmade resin wall clock is priced at ₹800–₹2,500 retail and is a high-perceived-value home décor product.

Works With All Your Resin Art Materials

Epoxy Resin (3:1 ratio) — crystal-clear, high-depth pours for coasters, wall art, and clock faces. Mix 3 parts Part A to 1 part Part B hardener by volume. Cure time 24–48 hours at room temperature.

→ UV Resin — single-component, no mixing needed. Suitable for thin decorative layers and inclusion embedding. Cure time 2–5 minutes under a 36W+ UV lamp. Max recommended layer depth 3–4mm per layer.

Mica Powder Pigments & Alcohol Inks — metallic, pearl, holographic, and matte pigments for ocean, marble, galaxy, and abstract colour pours.

→ Soy Wax (50–55°C pour temperature) and Paraffin Wax (60–65°C) — for decorative round candle discs. Insert a wick before the wax sets for a circular pillar candle.

→ Cold-Process Soap — no mold release spray needed on platinum silicone. Demold after 24–48 hours; cure soap bars for 4–6 weeks before use.

Teakwood Frames — display your 4-inch circle resin art piece in a matching teakwood frame for a gallery-quality framed artwork that sells as a complete home décor product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need mold release spray for epoxy resin in this mold?

No — food-grade platinum silicone has a natural non-stick surface that allows clean demolding of epoxy and UV resin without any mold release spray. For plaster, concrete, or stiff wax pours, a light spritz of mold release spray before pouring will protect the mold and extend its life. Never use mold release spray with cold-process soap — it interferes with the saponification process.

What is the cure time for epoxy resin in this mold?

Standard epoxy resin requires 24–48 hours to demold safely and achieves full hardness and scratch resistance after 72 hours at room temperature. Never demold early — partially cured resin is flexible and will warp as it continues to cure outside the mold. UV resin cures in minutes under a UV lamp. For soy wax, allow 4–6 hours at room temperature before demolding.

How do I get a perfectly bubble-free coaster?

Mix your epoxy resin slowly to minimise air introduction during mixing. After pouring into the mold, use a heat gun in quick passes (not held stationary) from 15 cm above the surface to pop any visible bubbles. Cover the mold immediately after treating to prevent new dust or debris from settling on the wet surface. Repeat a second heat gun pass 10–15 minutes into the cure as new bubbles rise from the resin below.

Can I make a set of four matching coasters?

Yes — purchase four 4-inch circle molds and pour all four simultaneously from the same mixed batch of epoxy resin for a perfectly matched coaster set. If you have a single mold, pour in batches and keep detailed notes on your pigment ratios to reproduce matching colours. A set of four ocean-theme coasters in a kraft gift box retails at ₹800–₹2,000 and is one of the most popular Indian resin art gifting products.

Does this mold work for making wall clocks?

Yes — cast your design into the 4-inch circle mold, cure fully, demold, and then drill a 7mm centre hole for a standard AA battery clock mechanism shaft. Insert the mechanism from the back, attach the clock hands to the front shaft, and hang. A handmade resin clock face is a premium home décor product priced at ₹800–₹2,500 retail.

Is this mold suitable for beginners?

The 4 Inch Circle is one of the most beginner-friendly mold shapes available — the wide, flat, single cavity is easy to pour into, bubbles are simple to manage with a heat gun, and demolding is straightforward with no undercuts or complex geometry. It is the shape we recommend to every first-time resin artist as their starting mold for resin art India.
