What Are Mini Katories?

Mini Katories are small, sturdy craft bowls designed for resin artists, candle makers, and craft enthusiasts who work with multiple pigments, dyes, and inclusions simultaneously. In resin art, precision and organisation are everything — these mini bowls give you a dedicated vessel for each colour or material, keeping your workspace clean and your pours perfectly controlled from start to finish.

Sourced by THE CRAFT STATION MOLDS — Jammu's first resin art supply store, trusted by 5,000+ artists across India — mini katories are a staple tool in every serious resin artist's kit. Whether you're tinting epoxy resin for an agate pour, measuring fragrance oil for candle making, or separating glitter colours before a multi-tone pour, these compact bowls keep your craft organised and professional. Free shipping above ₹2599 | Same-day delivery in Jammu | Pan India.

How Resin Artists Use Mini Katories

Pigment Mixing and Colour Separation

Pour your mixed epoxy resin into multiple mini katories and tint each one a different colour with alcohol inks or resin pigments. Having separate bowls for each colour prevents accidental mixing and gives you full control over your palette before a single drop goes into the mold. This technique is essential for agate pours, ocean wave effects, and marbled resin pieces where precise colour separation drives the final result.

Fragrance Oil Measurement for Candle Making

Measure your fragrance oil — at the recommended 6–10% by weight of wax — into a mini katori before adding it to your melted soy or paraffin wax. Having the fragrance pre-measured ensures you hit the right fragrance load consistently every batch, without fumbling with large bottles over hot wax at pour temperature.

Holding Inclusions Before Embedding

Sort your glitter, pressed flowers, dried petals, crushed glass, or crystal flakes into individual mini katories before starting a pour. Reaching for the right inclusion at the right moment — without searching through bags and containers — makes your pours faster and more deliberate. A sorted workspace is a creative workspace.

UV Resin Jewellery Work

Mini katories are perfect vessels for UV resin jewellery, where you mix tiny amounts of resin with pigment for individual pendant fills, bezel pours, and small charm molds. Their compact size reduces waste and keeps your work precise.

Candle Dye and Soap Colour Mixing

Dissolve candle dye chips or liquid colourants in a small amount of melted wax inside a mini katori before adding to your main batch — this ensures even colour distribution without streaks or uneven tinting throughout the finished candle.

Workflow: Using Mini Katories in a Resin Pour Session

Step 1 – Set Out Your Katories

Before mixing any resin, lay out one mini katori for each colour you plan to use in your pour. Label them lightly with tape and a marker if working with many colours or similar shades.

Step 2 – Pre-Measure and Divide Your Resin

Mix your epoxy resin at a 3:1 ratio (Part A:Part B by volume) in a main cup, stir for 3–5 minutes, then divide into the individual mini katories based on the proportion of each colour you need.

Step 3 – Tint Each Cup Separately

Add alcohol inks or resin pigments to each individual katori and stir gently. Having each colour separately tinted gives you full visual control and lets you adjust each shade before committing to the mold.

Step 4 – Pour in Sequence

Pour colours one at a time from the mini katories into the mold in your planned sequence. The small vessel gives you precision control over where each colour lands for a cleaner, more intentional pour.

Step 5 – Clean and Reuse

Once cured resin can be flexed out of the katories, or wipe them clean with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) before resin cures fully. These bowls are designed for repeated use across hundreds of resin sessions.

Beyond Resin Art — Other Craft Uses

Candle Making and Soap Making

Use mini katories to pre-measure fragrance oils, hold wax dye chips, and separate wick hardware during candle pour sessions. For soap making, measure coloured oxides and micas into individual katories to prevent cross-contamination between colours — essential for layered or swirled soap designs.

Jewellery Making and Bead Organisation

Sort seed beads, jump rings, charms, and clasps into mini katories for an organised jewellery assembly workspace. One katori per component type means no scrambling or losing small parts mid-project — a simple change that speeds up production dramatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can cured resin be removed from these katories?

Cured epoxy resin can often be flexed or peeled out of the katori depending on the material. To avoid sticking, wipe the katori with IPA before the resin cures fully. Silicone-lined katories release resin very easily; metal ones may require light scraping of partially cured resin.

What size are the mini katories?

Mini katories are compact — sized for mixing portions suitable for coaster-to-pendant-sized resin pours. For exact dimensions, refer to the product images or message us on WhatsApp.

Are these suitable for hot wax?

Katories can be used to hold fragrance oil and liquid dye. For direct contact with very hot wax (above 70°C), check the material for heat safety. Message us on WhatsApp for guidance on wax-safe vessels.

Can I use these for soap colourant mixing?

Yes — mini katories are ideal for pre-mixing oxide pigments, micas, and liquid colourants for cold-process and melt-and-pour soap making before dispersing into the soap batter.

How many katories are in the pack?

Pack quantity details are shown in the product listing. For bulk orders or custom quantities, message us on WhatsApp.

Is bulk pricing available?

Our silicone molds are made from food-grade platinum silicone — non-toxic, BPA-free. We recommend keeping separate molds for food vs resin use.
100+ uses with proper care. Clean with mild soap and warm water after each use. Avoid sharp objects inside the cavity.
Recommended but not mandatory. A thin coat of mold release or petroleum jelly makes demolding easier — especially with epoxy resin.
